Warren Edward Buffett is an American investor, industrialist and philanthropist.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska back in 1930, Warren Buffett was the son of a Congressman and stockbroker, and he would go on to become one of the most successful investors in the world.

Even with the background he came from, he grew up delivering newspapers to make his own money and as a young child was interested in both making and saving his money.

By age 10 he had visited the New York Stock Exchange and then purchased Cities Service shares.

While in high school he was accruing other investments and he would have better than $90,000 in savings when he completed college.

He built up a company from scratch, Berkshire Hathaway and through investing he would become a billionaire.

Warren Buffett has built up a fortune estimated at $47 billion

He was ranked as the world’s wealthiest person in 2008 and is the third wealthiest person in the world as of 2011.

Although he is in the Top 10 Richest Men alive today, he has portrayed homespun frugality and is well known for his philanthropic giving to other people and causes he believes in.

Rule No.1: Never lose money.

4. Spell out the deal before you start
Get all the details in writing before you follow through.

5. Watch small expenses
Beware of the small expenses. Although they don`t hurt immediately, but collectively they can. So put a certain limit on your every expense then it will extend the reach of your paycheck as well.

6. Limit what you borrow
Avoid huge borrowings. Best way is to save your money and then start investing. Never owes large debts and loans.

7. Be persistent
Always remember the saying: “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”
